The ways of getting a Permanent Residency(PR) status of Canada

The programs through which the candidate can migrate to Canada are ample and within those programs there are sub- categories for qualification, thus, the immigration to Canada has become fairly easier than before. However, the three most popular pathways through which a candidate can migrate to Canada are:

  • Express Entry program : It is system of selection which is federal and has been an initiative started by the government of Canada to invite skilled candidates in its domain. Through this portal thousands of people have migrated to Canada in less than 6 months time. It assesses the candidates on the basis of point measurement in which age, language, education, work experience and adaptability become factors of point calculation. All those candidates who qualify the minimum required points are sent the ITA (Invitations to Apply) and are considered fit to apply for the Permanent Residency(PR) status.
  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) : It is the portal to apply for the Permanent Residency(PR) status of a particular province for which the eligibility has been met by the candidate. The eligibility criteria for every province is different and the candidates who meet the eligibility for a province are fit to apply for the Permanent Residency(PR) status of that province only. Each province places huge importance on the occupation in-demand in their region.
  • Quebec skilled Workers program(QSWP) : It is portal of selection in which the candidate can apply for the Permanent Residency(PR) status of the Quebec region. The Quebec region has two stages of qualification – first the approval needs to be sought from the Quebec government in which a CSQ (certificate of selection of Quebec) is attained by the government of Quebec after that the second stage is getting an approval from the federal government for immigration to Canada.
